When doing your laundry, it is important to sort and organize them first before washing.
Why do you need to sort laundry? Sorting your laundry lets you use different cycle types and water temperatures on your washing machine. Also, this step keeps clothes from getting ruined. This way, you can keep your clothes looking great and save money from having to replace destroyed clothes.
When sorting your laundry, you can divide them into four different piles: whites, darks, lights, jeans and delicates.
Whites: This pile is for white, durable cotton items that can handle the normal setting on your washer. Whites include white t-shirts, white underwear, white socks and other similar garments.
Darks: Items that are gray, black, navy blue, red, dark purple or have a similar color go into this pile.
Lights: Light, pastel-type colors like pink, light blue, lavender, light green and other similar colors go into this pile.
Jeans: Denim materials go into this pile.
Delicates: Items that can’t handle harsh settings go into this category. This includes lingerie, pantyhose, washable silk and other similar items.
Sorting does not have to be stressful. Instead of having one laundry, prepare different laundry baskets and put dirty garments into the appropriate basket. This way, you don’t have to spend extra time sorting through a big pile of laundry during laundry day.
